It’s on, Kings of Chaos Age 8 Beta was launch yesterday. I’m now registered as TapaGeuR I think there is currently no change to the game or i didn’t notice any yet.

I don’t plan to play it seriously and definitely not at the same time as the Age 7 version that is still running in parallel. I still have a bunch of turns to burn in Age 7 and i’ll keep playing this one as primary game. I’d like to mention that there is some discussion about the plan for the future Age 8 on the forum and since now the beta is running, it will be the right time to finalize our plan.

For those of still play Age 7 version, keep going it’s close to the end and for the ones that started Age 8 Beta, have fun and good luck!

We haven’t waited long since since i’ve posted about this the first time to have the an official answer from the KoC admins:

The results are in- more than 60% of players voted to extend Age 7. Age 8 will begin in early September.

In the coming weeks we will be launching an Age 8 Beta. Stay tuned for details…

Looks like it is all planned for the Age 8 start and the beta coming soon. Personnally, i think it is a good thing to announce in advance the new age start and this sort of news about a beta coming along the way. I think players of the previous age remember how it ended with a notice shorter then 4 hours… This had pissed off quite a few players that i know.

So there should be a beta coming soon. I don’t know about you, but i’m very curious about what kind of news features and changes they will bring to the game. I think it will take quite a lot of changes to keep some of the veteran players to continue playing the game. We should see all this soon since the message from the admins says “stay tuned” so do it!

It’s been a while since i’ve talked about the SpeedWar game cause i don’t play the game anymore and our alliance also have stop all its support to the game. However, i still hold the nickname ViciousHunter on IRC and have still my old auto-join script from the time i was playing the game so each time i connect with this user, it auto-join the SpeedWar IRC channel.

So yesterday, i fired up my IRC program with ViciousHunter profile since i like the name and i don’t want it to un-register with inactivity and it auto-join the game channel. I’ve stayed there since i connected and i haven’t said a word in the channel, but when i got back from work, i’ve notice this (with a false statement):

First of all, i never made a website about SpeedWar or any of the admins of the game, so the statement in the “kick” line is completely false. Second, what did i made that was wrong… nothing, so i’m in the full right to be online on this channel. Some admins are still abusing their power and get rid of everyone they don’t like for absolutely no reason at all.

The sad part is that since i’ve started making these posts about the SpeedWar game, it really worked as a bad publicity about the game since my average ranking for this site related to SpeedWar is still quite high in page ranks. Now, if you concider this new fuel to write about this game, well it can only make things better for all the people that make propaganda against the SpeedWar game and keep a high rank for pages of this site that are about the game.

I would have liked to see some positive changes to the game and being on IRC was one of the way i could try to get in touch with the latest developments in the game, but it only seems that things have stayed the same… or even worst.

It’s been a while since the KoC admins gave some news and the last time it was a surprise vote/poll when you logon. It was a choice between:

• Start Age 8 now with small improvements
• Start Age 8 with big improvements in 3 months

I’ve just notice the discussion over the forum about this vote that occured when you log into the game. Since it’s been over a week from now i guess we are up to a 3 months waiting and gets more improvements in the game. Anyhow, before the new age, i’m burning some turns and i’m having a lot of fun! I still have a few thousands to use so i think i’m good for a while.
